In my first post I talked about the situation of bullying and
how it effects students in school since there may be certain individuals that
are targeted. Children influenced by their
family life such as their parents since they are supposed to be there role
models. The family is to provide love, support and encouragement to an
individual, but as stated in the text “not every family structure is perfect”
(358). One study was done and had found that children who do not have stability
have a higher chance of developing emotional problems (356). It is hard for a
child to adjust every so often when they have to move or experience major
changes in life which then effects there development. Not only do parents influence
their child but peers or classmates do to in areas that they do not want to agree
with parents. Ways that others students can play a part in another child’s life
is ways to act, acceptance, social items that parents cannot teach, and
culture. An example how peers influence a child is how they speak a child may
start using slang words or certain things to describe an item such as a boy
being considered a dude. Another example children are influenced is acceptance,
who to be friends with or who are popular which can eventually lead to the
start of bullying. Children want to fit in and be a part of the bigger group creating
one to be influenced by certain ideas of what they might wear, act etc. Children
may feel that the need to be liked and not want to stand out of the crowd by
not always agreeing to what a popular student may think or do.
