Week 6 post 1

In chap 10 I learned some new things. One of the things that I learned was that one of the major challenges is the influence the media has on children. I knew that media can affect people but I didn't realize how much influence it had on our children. The media can be a positive and negative influence on children. One positive influence it can have on children is they can learn basic literacy from educational programs, and if a parent watch the programs with their children it can have a even greater impact for children. Children are not the only one that are influence my media or technology their parents are influence as well. With parents being more engaged in their electronic media ( ipads, iphone, t.v) children is observing their parents being influence by the media and they are influenced as well. Parents should limit what programs their child should watch and how many times a day they can watch it. To much media daily can be destructive to children growth. Times have changed children are not as active like I was raised. My family raised me to be active inside and outside even though I had the privilege to have different types of media such as game systems t.v and others. I was still told to go outside and play. To be honest I am glad I was raised that was because it grew with other children around me. I was able to be develop socially and intellectually.
