When growing up and attending school did you ever
feel uncomfortable or not accepted? Well in this weeks chapter the main topic
was about bullying and how one is effected by that. I remember in middle school
and high school there was always the popular kids and the followers or want a
be’s which can contribute to bullying and how one views another person or
group. Bullying has become a big thing in schools which is a hot topic and to
make others aware of the situations that happen it spread through social media.
One story that sticks with me that I have heard is there was a boy in Lancaster
county local school who was bullied over and over again and finally he could
not take it anymore since he had developed depression which lead to not feeling
loved by anyone so he took his own life. After a year or two of him taking his
life a program was developed to help other students and individuals who maybe have
the same feels as he and to help each other to make it through and support one
another. More and more programs like this should be created to allow students
to gather around and support each other so that one who maybe struggling can reach
out for help. Also anti bully programs should be implemented to allow parents,
teachers, peers and other outside people to understand that this is a problem
that is not only effecting students but the greater population and needs to stop.
Bullying is a problem that can be changed by others teaching that we need to accept
others for the way they are and that one person is not better or superior than
another.
