I found this week's discussion to be very interesting. It
allowed me to reflect again on my own life and the way I became the person who
I am today. I also enjoyed reading our other classmates' moral reflections and
comparing them to my own. I noticed that a lot of people discussed their
experiences and decisions with their parents as I did when they were in elementary
and middle school. I am fascinated by the way that our parents have influenced
our moral decisions in the past and the ones we make today. I learned a lot,
not only from my own article about moral development, but also from reading our
classmates' article summaries. One of our classmates articles was about
mother-child conversations. The study was set to determine whether or not these
conversations help with past harmful and helpful actions. The research
concluded that the conversations help shape the child's moral development. As I
child, I discussed both my positive and negative experiences with my parents. I
believe that this has had a significant impact on my morals and values today. I
continue to look back on the things that I have learned from my parents when I
make important decisions.
