Week 7 Post 2

I think that all kids learn differently. Personally I learn by example, I'm a very visual person. When I have an example about how to do a math problem I can easily solve a problem that is in front of me. For others they learn by auditory or by doing. When I was in school I remember taking many tests on whether we were left brained or right brained, and how we learned best. In math wars and reading wars in the book it explains how different teachers think they should be taught different ways. However I think they shouldn’t focus on one way of teaching. For example I learn best by memorizing whereas other people learn better by knowing the concepts. I think teachers should show kids both ways in order to cover all the bases and make sure the kids are learning best for them. The teachers can’t say whether one way is better than the other because it depends on the kid.
