The part of the video that interested me the most was the
study on how people are genetically born to be either shy or outgoing. Me
personally I was definitely born with a tendency to be shyer and genetically I
definitely get it from my mother. My dad is very outgoing on the other hand. I
definitely grew up in an environment where I felt safe and protected and like
they saw in the study done with the monkey’s I have become more outgoing and am
not always shy. However in environments
where I am uncomfortable or do not know many people I tend to go back into my shell
and am definitely shy. I thought this study was so interesting because I could
relate to it so well. This just goes to
show how a kid’s environment and where they grow up in definitely affects who
they are. It also shows that we are not destined to be any certain person. Any thing
or event can change who we are and who we become. This also shows that
parenting definitely plays a factor into the development of a child. I read a
case study on whether low income families either African American or Caucasian
show a difference in attachment of children. The study shows how even though the
parenting styles differ very much, the children still are attached and in
loving environments. So many different techniques can be used to parent, as
long as the child feels secure and safe they will be fine.
