Week 2 Post 1

Although I've learned about a lot of the concepts in this chapter in previous psychology classes, I still found it very interesting because I really enjoy psychology even though it is not my major. I found the discussion topic for this week to be very interesting. It really made me think about my views on human development which is something that I have never really thought in depth about prior to this chapter. I also liked the fact that I could relate experiences in my own life to the questions being asked. This helped me to think of examples for my beliefs and responses to the questions asked. I was also intrigued by the article that I chose to review. My article addressed the decision making topic and was based in India. Since the research was done with young adults, I was able to relate to the topic of the research which was decision making related to fashion. The findings of the research did not surprise me because I can relate to the answers in which the students gave. In keeping it short, the results show that there has been an increase in brand consciousness, novelty-fashion consciousness, and impulsive-careless shopping within the past fifteen years. There has been a decrease in perfectionist-quality consciousness. I really liked this discussion because it made me think about new and different things even though a lot of the information in the chapter are concepts I've already learned.
