Week 2 Post 1

This chapter was very interesting to me. A lot of the material talked about in this chapter was material that I  previously learned in past psychology classes. Even though I knew a lot of the context already I still learned some things about Freud and Watson, two famous psychologists, that I did not know before. I completely disagree with Freud. I think that his theories do not make sense. Maybe when he first came out with these theories they made sense, but that was so long ago that a lot of things have changed and we have become more educated about those issues. I believe that Maslow's Hierarchy of needs is very important and very relevant to life. The order in which we need and desire things is essential to life. We do not need to be loved and comforted before we have our food and water. Our needs have to come before our desires or we will not survive. Another thing I find interesting is that everything single thing we do and know comes from what others have taught us. This comes from our equilibrium process. In my discussion this week I mentioned how I believe that everything we learn and all decisions that we make come from things that we have picked up from others around us. The way we see someone else react to a situation will have an effect on the way we react to similar situations down the road.
