Week 2 post 2
I personally think that
the most interesting thing in chapter 2 is later in the chapter when the author
discusses Cognitive equilibrium. I am very fascinated with cognitive
equilibrium it’s an interesting concept how us as individual learn things and
process them so that we can understand them better. The fact that cognitive
equilibrium is a state of mental balance according to the book; it’s the
easiest way to interpret new experiences. I think that assimilation and
accommodation are too terms that tie into cognitive equilibrium well. While I
think a if not careful some could mistaken these terms for each other since
assimilation has to deal with the reinterpretation of new experiences fitting
into old ideas and accommodation is reconstruction of old ideas to include new
experiences.
