The chapter talks about how old age can be a time for
creativity and enjoyment. I definitely think this is an added plus for the
elderly. They don’t have to really worry
about preparing for the future or taking care of children or anything like that.
They can live their lives however they please with nothing really tying them
down but their health. I know my grandparents went to Cancun when they retired
and had a crazy time there. Now my grandma has time to make curtains and
pressed flower paintings. Honestly I think elderly age is both a happy and sad
period in life. You can do things for yourself and have a lot of free time
however this also means you have a lot of time to reflect on your
accomplishments and what you did in your life time. A life review is an
examination of one’s own role in the history of human life. Engaged in by many
elderly people. This is a period when you look at your life and your success
and realize if you had. In this time elderly people talk about not only their
stories but also stories of their family and ancestors. I love listening to
stories about how my grandfather was as a child/ my age and how crazy he was. I
also love hearing stories about old times and how things use to be because there world has
changed so much since they’ve been alive and the same thing is going to happen
to us so we can listen to their stories and learn from them.
