Week 14 post 2

For my second blog post another topic that I found interesting was the topic of jobs/employment. In the chapter it points out about caregiving for children which has changed over the years. Not only has the type of caregiving has changed but the amount of woman enter the work force has increased which diverts who does childrearing. In both theories from Erikson and Maslow its stresses the importance of things which are accomplished within adulthood which leads to the topic of employment. Employment maybe considered an accomplishment especially for individuals who pursue a job of interest and work for many years just to reach a certain level. Since the increase of amount of woman in the workforce the issue and controversial topic that surfaces is unequal pay between men and woman. This topic has become a problem since woman who are performing the same duties as a man is not earning the same wage which is unfair and unequal. Not only is performing duties on the clock or job is what a person does for a job but taking extra steps and performing studies or doing research to continue understanding in the field of practice happens to keep the individual updated on current areas. In the past certain races or ethnic groups maybe have found in certain areas of work but change is happening which is creating diversity. Having a diverse population allows for individuals who may not be considered as privileged some equality.
